Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week

November 18–24, 2024

In recognition of Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week, students from the University of Regina’s Biochemistry Students Association will be at the Saskatchewan Science Centre on Saturday, November 23, from 1:00–4:00 pm for AMR: Microbe Madness.

Visit them on the exhibit floor to explore interactive, hands-on activities that highlight the importance of antimicrobial resistance and its impact on global health.

  • Build your own microbe using cutouts and coloring

  • DNA extractions with fruit

  • Agar Bacteria Art (Taking swabs of anything around them and plating it with their own designs. The students will take the plates back to the university and culture them, then will send us images of all the plates that we can then share on our website or on socials)

  • Meet a Researcher (Visitors can talk to real microbiologist and chemist researchers, and ask them questions about their world and the world of microbes).
