Earth Day 2023

  • Saskatchewan Science Centre 2903 Powerhouse Drive Regina, SK, S4N 0A1 Canada (map)

Earth Day Activities
Saturday, April 22

This year, Earth Day has the theme of Invest in Our Planet, and the Saskatchewan Science Centre is planning to bring together some our local community partners and businesses who are investing in the shared goal of sustainable living to host a celebration of this important work.

The Saskatchewan Science Centre is participating in the GenAction initiative which brings together science centres across Canada to inspire the next generation of climate heroes. Earth Day 2023 at the Saskatchewan Science Centre will also include fun educational activities and opportunities to empower the next generation to take climate action!

Activities include:

  • Recycle Relay

    • Learn the value of reusing items or alternatively disposing of them properly in this fun recycle relay game!

    • Facilitated by the City of Regina

  • Take Apart/Fix Toys

    • Help combat climate change by reducing consumption; take apart/reconstruct toys to learn and understand how to fix things rather than buying new.

  • Cookie Mining

    • Learn about mineral extraction and the importance of reclamation and sustainable resource management by mining a cookie for its chocolate chip minerals!

  • Earth Toast

    • Make your own rendition of our beloved Earth on toast using coloured milk. Then, toast it to learn the future global dryness that we will experience from climate change.

We hope to see you there!
