The Saskatchewan Science Centre (SSC) is committed to promoting inclusion in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. To reach this goal, the SSC is designing opportunities to include underrepresented groups in the mainstream of these fields.
The “Girls Night Out” event is one of these programs. This event gives girls a chance to meet with successful women in STEM fields, work with technology, and experience STEM based programs that they may otherwise not have a chance to work with. The SSC uses an inclusive definition of “women” and “girls” and encourages trans*women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are significantly female-identified to be involved in this program.
