Adult Science Night - Sweet Science

  • Saskatchewan Science Centre 2903 Powerhouse Drive Regina, Sask, S4N 0A1 Canada (map)

The Science Centre - only for adults! Explore advanced programming and our exhibit floor with your adult friends and access to a cash bar! All attendees must bring photo ID and be 19 years old or older.

Heavenly chocolate and science so sweet it can take you out of this world!

The Power of Pop

As you arrive at the Science Centre, drop a lucky penny into some Coke or Sprite. Be sure to collect it at the end of the evening and see what the soda can do to copper coins!

Candy Rockets

Can sugar send you to the stars? Watch our demo at the Space Stage and see how coke and Mentos can fuel our little rockets.

Star Lab

Sign-ups at the front desk. Party under the stars! Learn all about stars and constellations in our planetarium.

Star lab sessions at 7.15pm, 8pm, 8.45pm 9.30pm

Hot Chocolate That’s Out of This World

Spin the wheel and see what extra “alien” ingredients you should add to your chocolate – will it be tasty treats like marshmallows or candy canes? Or something more unusual like chilli, orange zest or salt?

Candy Construction Challenge

You’ve watched sugar-powered rockets launch into space and you’ve seen the stars in Star Lab. Now, how do you get back down to earth? Your next challenge is to build a Lander pod using only candy canes and marshmallows. Your structure must protect the little edible space ship when it falls from the top of the Space Stadium Stage. Need inspiration? Check out the Mars Lander video by the stage on the second floor.

At 9.30pm the Candy Landers will be dropped from the top of the Space Stadium Stage. Which will survive?

A Special Guest!

Look out – (but you’d better not shout…) – our special guest will make an appearance during the evening as well, bringing some yummy treats.
