Award-winning poet Sylvia Legris will read from her latest book, The Hideous Hidden, and will discuss her process of revealing the music and beauty hidden within the inner workings of the human body. About Sylvia Legris
Sylvia Legris' most recent book, The Hideous Hidden (New Directions, 2016), celebrates anatomy's wonders. Among her other books are Pneumatic Antiphonal (New Directions, 2013) and Nerve Squall (Coach House Books), winner of both the 2006 Griffin Poetry Prize and the 2006 Pat Lowther Award. She is the 2014 recipient of the Lieutenant Governor's Saskatchewan Artist Award; in 2012 she received the Canada Council's Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award for outstanding achievement by a mid-career writer. Her poems have appeared in many journals and magazines, including The New Yorker, Granta, The Walrus, Kenyon Review, and Poetry.
